Spirit
Banner
Criteria the banners/flags will be judged upon.
The banner must appear like a flag that represents the Olympian’s country (school). The flag must be double-sided and attached to a pole. The flag must have the dimensions of four feet by three feet and the pole must be six feet in length. The Olympic Committee will judge the banner flag based on the following aspects:
Correct dimensions
Creativity
Theme based
Residence hall incorporation
School based
Overall appearance
Originality
The award for the banner will be presented to the winning school during the closing ceremonies.
Roll Call
The Roll Call will follow the Torch Bearers speech and consist of a performance by each country (school) that will be in a form of a dance/skit. The time constraints are three minutes minimum and four minutes maximum. The dimensions of the performance area are ten feet by twenty feet. A panel of three Olympic Staff will determine the winners of the event from the following criteria:
School representation
IRHO representation
Incorporation of theme
Incorporation of residence halls
Costume
Enthusiasm and spirit
The use of their flag/banner.
The banner must be representative of a flag and must be used during the role call. The awards for Roll Call will be presented during the Closing Ceremonies.
Spirit
The Spirit Award will be based on the overall participation and enthusiasm displayed at the conference. The Olympic Committee will be observing each school through the entire conference. Criteria for this competition include:
The total points from the banner competition
Total amount of points from Roll Call
Conference unity (the ability to cheer with and for other schools)
Proper registration
Attendance in programs
Number of programs the school presents
Participation in the Philanthropy project
The ability to follow the rules for quiet areas on campus.
Bonus points will be awarded to schools who are extraordinarily enthusiastic and those who make a lasting effect on the Olympic Committee. The Spirit Award will be presented during the closing ceremonies.
